Doc Ock, dead or alive?

Sorry for asking a newbie question, but I haven't looked at Spider-man in a few years. Last thing I remember was that Doctor Octopus had died, but I see him in this new Spiderman nintendo game. Is he back in the world of the living in the comics??

Just because he's in the video game doesn't mean he's alive. If half the bad guys died in the comics & they made a new game with some of them doesn't mean they're back in the comic..........

Anyways, Since I haven't read all of my Spider-Man comic books, I don't know how he died, if he did. But he does have a daughter that is taking his place..........

Thanks for your input. I am well aware that his presence in the game does not relate to his existance in the current Marvel Universe. I have since learned that he did die, but was somehow brought back with the Marvel revamp.
