Simple... the big-wigs at the movie studios think we are all so dumb that we cannot handle anything more than a few tid bits of information with lots of eye-candy AND unfortunately this makes lots of money here in America so that is all we will ever get (although I must say that I was surprised with LotR and how they are handling the 3 movies.)

I agree that they should have had Gwen Stacy in this movie and that she should have died, although that should have been left for the second movie. Basically they should have taken a page from Lucas and made this a trilogy with the origin of both Spidey and the Goblin taking place in the first movie and establishing themselves in this world (heck why not have a few cameos as well in these movies... the Marvel Universe is great for that... Why no news of other super-beings or villains [like the Kingpin to tie this movie in with the DD movie coming out]?) The second movie should have given us the death of Stacy (and the Goblin) and how this changes Peter... with the third movie giving us the MJ story with the Hobgoblin coming in as the baddy.

The changing of the Origin was crap as well... Peter should have been somehow working on this project or something after all he is a genius. AND no freak'n web-shooters WTF? This is just plain stupid and really pissed me off. Parker was never the average geek but instead a real genius which should have been brought out more.

I would give this movie a 8.2 - 8.7 out of 10 if it where just another movie BUT as a Spider-man comic movie I give it a 2.5 just like the Superman and Batman movies of the past this movie was an almost good movie but once again hollywood failed to capture what made the comics so great.

Well i think MJ's flight off the bridge was a tribute to Gwen. And that story would have been too long for a movie anyway. I appreiciate the movie separate frome the comic book storyline. I certainly would like to see Venom in the next one. And they can stay away from Maximum Clonage (thank you very much).
