you know it could have. we all saw it a mile away. it was only a matter if time and eventually it could have went down in history. you know it i know it, the whole goddamn world knows it. what im talking about that COULD have happened emphasising the word could here was that our beloved friendly neighborhood spiderman could have been the top grossing movie of all time. yeah you know where im going with this. if shit wars hadnt came out the exact same year as spiderman only 2 weeks from the time it opened it would still be making near 100 million dollar takes every weekend and would have eventually surpassed craptanic as the undisputed champion of movies. but oh no that rat bastard george lucas wants the pie all to himself so thats why he felt like releasing it only 2 weeks after spiderman. i hope george lucas dies and every shit wars fan dies. hey the movie is projected to still make over 400 million but could have been much more. how do you like me now?

Uh.....is it really that important? Even if you're right, so what? Spiderman is still a great movie. Unless you've got some personal financial stake in how well Spiderman does at the box office, I don't see why you care so much.

Actually Star Wars has a history of coming out close to the same date on each release. The original trilogy came out three years apart and the starting date was always in the middle of May. Ditto for this current trilogy, though there was better than three years between the two trilogies. If Lucas had maintained the schedule he was originally envisioning, 2001 would have been the year to release the last of the third trilogy.
