Greetings- I am an employee of Archie Comic Publications, Inc., and I just got out of a meeting where I heard some STUNNING news...it looks like our friend and American icon, Archie Andrews, is in line for a MAJOR revamp....a revamp being headed up and directed by none other than Mr. GRANT MORRISON himself!!! The details are still being worked out, but beginning in January 2002 (the 60th anniversary of Archie's self-titled book), Grant will be doing the writing chores on ARCHIE, JUGHEAD, BETTY, VERONICA, ARCHIE AND JUGHEAD, and BETTY AND VERONICA. No artists names have been firmly attached to this revamp yet (keep in mind, this is still a year and a half before Grant's first issues will hit the shelves), but the names that were tossed around in the meeting today had me DROOLING....Jim Lee, Frank Miller, Bill Sienkiewicz, and perhaps the strangest name I heard mentioned was Steve Ditko...from what I understand, Steve's been wanting to draw his interpretation of the 'Archie Mythos' ever since his Spider-Man pencilling days. That's all I know right now. I know a lot of you out there won't believe it, but it's for real, and it's going to happen. Apparently, the top brass at the home office want a hipper, edgier Archie for the new Millenium, something that will attract TODAY's teenagers...and that's exactly what we at Archie Comic Productions are gearing up to deliver!
