I'm not new to comics but i never really read Spiderman and only started recently with JMS. Can somebody tell me what the deal is with MJ. Wasn't she believed dead? How did she live? Why aren't they talking? Thanks

She was believed dead but was being held captive. Spidey rescued her. As his reward after a couple issues they separated because writers don't seem to know how to deal with a married Spider-man. Reportedly, a reconciliation is in the works to cash in on new readers who pick up a Spidey comic because they saw the movie and expect to see a PP/MJ relationship.
