Thought it was a cute touch at the lab how the mentioned how certain spiders can change colour to blend in with their environment. Like what venom does in the comic books- changes costume colour to appear invisible. Intentional reference?

Also liked how Dr. Strom was Osborne's assistant in movie. I'm not up on the whole original Spider slayers comic book storyline, but wasn't Strom the guy who created them? Don't know why he did it etc. but didn't his son, Alaistair inherit the mantle of building spider-slayers to kill ol' webhead?

Hmmm...thanks- I've only seen movie once so far and did notice green colour of clothes Norman wore, but didn't actually think about room colours. Interesting. Your daughter's got a good eye! I'll have to go back and look...

I guess that'd fit in if they want him to be Green Gob II, or change comic story and make Harry Hobgoblin instead of Ned Leeds etc. so don't repeat GGoblin idea....

that sounds good, but Venom isn't a spider.. at all.... the costume is alien and mimics the powers of Spider-Man the costume can attain any form or color it chooses.. that isn;t a mutation from a spider it is because it is an alien shapeshifter

Nope, you were close! Strom was Osbourne assistant in the comics, even tried to kill him , but the guy that created the Slayers was Spencer Smythe! His son was Alaistair. He created them because Jonah paid him. Jonah, doing the first couple of years of Spiderman, was obsessed with hiring people to capture spiderman. Here is a very cool link!

On another recent viewing, she and I noticed the wallpaper in Peter's bedroom: It's blue, with silver-white criss-cross eight-pointed stars, encircled by concentric octagons. In other words, shapes that look very much like spider webs...
