I'm new to this group, but I've noticed something elsewhere in other forums. I've been a fan of B5 and JMS for a few years now. At the same time, I've always been a fan of Spidey in other media. I never got into the comics, though I don't really know why. I've just recently gotten back into comics, mainly because of JMS's other books, along with some other factors in the media. Anyways, I've noted (mainly in some B5 discussion groups) that while fans of both JMS alone (which is the category I pretty much fall into) are really loving his run on ASM, the people who are both JMS *and* Spidey fans are questioning it quite a bit. Therefore, I was wondering what the opinion of just Spider-Man (comics wise) fans have been since JMS starting writing the book.

Just curious...

well speaky as a guy who's been reading spidey on nd off for 25 years now(spidey taught me how to read i'm really enjoying his run thus far. the story seems much more focussed and theres alot of intrugue. such as what exactly is the deal with this ezekial character can spidey really trust him is he just another user? will he live past this story arc? i think with ezekial JMS has created the best new supporting character since the stan lee days. and we haven't seen a villian as good and original(in spidey books) as morlun since probly venom. so that is all good things.

i'm fairly new to JMS's writing. i've watched babylon 5 and really liked it but was never a huge fan, plus it was rarely on where i lived. but in issues 32 and 33he really showed great range. 32 was a total issue of dialogue and exposiyion which i couldn't have loved more and 33 was a great fight scene from beginning to end which i enjoyed totally as well. what i really like about JMS's work on spidey is the fact that he seems to have a deffinate plan and dirrection where he wants to go.

i think what other spidey fans are afraid of is this whole 'everything you knew about how you got your powers is wrong' bit. spidey fans have been burned before big time by ideas like this( just read up on the clone saga heh) and are afraid that he will totally ruin the character ance again. me? i'm in for the ride nd i take it from issue to issue. i have a feeling that that whole notion was put into there just to scare people and add some intrugue and he won't really do change spidey's origan like others are fearing.

hope your enjoying spidey in the form he was meant to be protryed in and may i suggest you check out ultimate spiderman. thats a great read.

I've never seen a single episode of Babylon 5, but I have been reading Spidey comics since I was a kid. After reading the last few JMS issues of Amazing, I have been tempted to check out B5 on the Sci-Fi channel. I am really enjoying the introspective aspects of the book. It's good to get back into Spidey's head, even if the good old fashioned thought balloons have been replaced by the narrative blocks.

Ezekial and Morlun have really caught my interest. I want to see an Ezekial origin issue soon! Hopefully, this storyline won't drag on like those in the past. I don't mind an arc that lasts a few months, but those never-ending never-answered issues (possible deaths, the kidnapping of Baby May) are hopefully a thing of the past. Maybe JMS can bring some closure to these dangling plots.
