I'm new here, so mea culpa if this is an old question...
With the new Spider-Man movie coming out, how many of you think it would have been nice if 'Gwen Stacy' was Pete's love interest instead of Mary Jane?
Remembering my old comics- I always thought Gwen was Peter's real true love, not Mary Jane.

Well, I'm a MJ fan. And MJ is his current love interest (well, actually they're split up, but she gets mentioned occasionally and I want them back together and I hated the relaunch and I'll shut up now). So if the movie actually leads to more people buying the comics, then MJ is the logical choice (esp. if they intend to bring her back to the comic). That said; I was amazed and dismayed to see Mary Jane falling from the bridge (as it seemed to be in the trailer). That's just wrong.

Agreed. But keep in mind, the comic book-based movies tend to be a medium where the most well-known aspects of the title are crammed into one two-hour period. Remember 1989's 'Batman'? The Joker did most definitely not kill Bruce Wayne's parents, but it's a lot more convenient and conforms to the story at hand. So...whatever happens in the movie happens, I s'pose. We'll have to see.
