Spider-Man: The Movie

What is everyone's thoughts on next year's big flick?

IMO, its shaping up to be at least as good as X-Men and possibly in the same class as the original Superman and Batman. I've kept up with it for a long time now and at first it sounded horrible, but I think they're making it work.

The Good:

-The costume. It looks great! The only think I don't like about it is the silver webbing instead of black, but that may look much different with the intended lighting.

-One Villain: The early script had Doc Ock and the Goblin and from what I heard, Doc's part was pathetically thin. Ock is gone for now which is a good thing. If the Batfilm's have taught us anything, its that multiple villians in a movie don't work!

The Bad:

-Organic Web Shooters - As far as I know, they're still there which really bugs me. I don't see any reason for them not to use mechanical. It appeases the fanboys and the casual fans won't care either way. I have this suspicion that the only reason for Organic is for the inevitable 'premature ejaculation' jokes.

The Jury's still out:

-The Goblin: Early on, the treatment was for the Goblin to be really medevil looking and to use swords and medevil weapons instead of pumpkin bombs! The current version supposedly has the pumpkin bombs. As for the look of the character, I've seen some pics that look horrible and some pics that look great. The costume is high tech looking and supposedly will look better with lighting and CG work.

the costume lines are black or silver looking depending on light.... they stand up off the costume

the webshooters are mechanical... the webs are organic. (there is a SCR you can get from the website that shows about this)

it looks to be a good film.. lots of CG (why it is taking another year after they finished filming)

i was harsh at first,as well.... but it is shaping up nicely.
