Im not a 'diehard' fan of the comic, or any comic for that matter, but I know the basics.

I saw the movie last night and it was well worth the price of admission. I am not well versed enough in the comics storylines to pick apart every minor 'flaw' in the film, so I wont do that. I just know that I went in expecting a good film about Spiderman and I left satisfied.

Anyway...

My favorite charechter from the comic is Venom and I know if they do many sequals they will have to incorporate him into the story. I was ver pleased that Eddie Brock was 'kinda sorta' mentioned.

It seems that, if it actually happens, the next films villian will be Harry- in a 'bitter son attempts revenge on the man who killed his father' story- and it would be stupid of them to end the film they way they did without using Harry in that role the next time around.

My question: When will they use Venom, and how may they go about putting him into the film (I doubt theyd do the symbiote/ space suit storyline exactly the way it is in the comics, but they cant just say 'Hey, Eddie Brock is pissed off and look at what he can do !'?

The Brock/ Venom story, in my opinion, is one of the best storys to be told but it will be hard for the filmakers to put it in the film without pissing off comic fans or going over the heads of the general public.

Thank you for your time,

Why would that be 'stupid'? Does Harry have to have his revenge in the sequel? Maybe they're setting something up for sequel #2 or #3.

Anyway...you're wrong on the 'stupid' thing. It's smart movie making and leaves their options open.

I personally hope they stay the hell away from the whole Venom thing. There are soooooo many good villians they could use instead who would not require 2 hours of backstory. Doc Ock Vulture Scorpion Lizard The Beetle (not Ringo) Sandman Kingpin (yeah I know he's gonna be in Daredevil but he was Parker's foe too) Mysterio Electro Kraven the Hunter The Chameleon Shocker Rhino Smythe The Spot (my fave loser, he would be a good henchman)

Villians to steer clear of Venom (6 years of backstory needed) Carnage (see above) Hobgoblin (too similar to Green Goblin)

They are certainly setting Harry up to be a villain, but I thought the villain for the next movie was set - Dr Octopus.

I loved the Eddie Brock and Dr Connors references, though. If the could just make about ten or so of these movies at this quality, we might get most of the bad guys I'd like to see.

they totally set Harry up to be Hobby in the next film I thought. we all know he's the Hobgoblin, and the film left off with him saying Spiderman must pay etc. I'm figuring he does to Normans lab and does the test on himself, and makes his own suit. or something along the same lines, maybe he finds a secondary suit that was to be tested, steals it and uses it to fight spiderman. the ideas are endless, that's why I love the comic book movies!

Why does everyone always think Harry Osborne becomes the Hobgoblin? He doesn't! Harry becomes the second Green Goblin. The Hobgoblin is an entirely different person.

If you ask me, I figure Harry will be using the Osborne money to finance the distruction of Spider-Man. Hiring villians and the like.

That would be true if only Harry had been the hobgoblin. He was actually the second Green Goblin. Of course they could change it, but I don't think they would want to do another goblin anything for the second film, it'd be too much like the first in most of the publics eye.

Why next film though? I think we'll see others instead first, then get back to Green Goblin.

I agree. It is definately set up for Harry to become the GG but I, too, don't want to see it in the next film. It's kind of like Star Wars: do the Death Star thing in Episode IV then get back around to it in Episode VI. Same song, second verse.
