According to Marvel, Spider-Man is in the 10 ton range in strength, while Superman is in the 100+ ton range (same as Hulk).

I htink the only competition from the Marvel Universe Supie might have had would be the Hulk, who simply keeps getting stronger no matter what. That's earth-bound heroes, of course, how he'd have coped with a twin attack from the Silver Surfer and Galactus is a matter for conjecture.

Is there a chart that lists the capabilities of the major 'super heros'? It might have maximum lifting capability and speed, and perhaps a couple dozen more parameters.

We may soon have the ability to create artificial muscle tissue out of carbon nano tubes. supposedly 100 times the strength of steel, at a tenth the weight, but would have the ability to push as well as pull. It will be interesting to see how reality compares with fiction.

Superan would be the stronger of the two - his strength & speed (and all his powers) are a result of a dense molecular structure in a far less dense environment, and the source is the sun itself - Superman has lifted space shuttles, helicopters, aeroplanes, cruise liners etc with no bother, in fact probably anything you would find on Earth (and yes, a few things you wouldn't...)

Spiderman has the proportional speed, strength and agility of a spider, which would really be far less than Superman on a bad day - though I don't know what the average strength of a spider is, I think the strongest creature on the planet is a type of ant, which can lift 50 times its own body weight. I've never heard an explanation on the speed thing, I mean I've seen a spider run but obviously it does have more limbs... while Spiderman has 2 legs to run with (OK, 2 legs and 2 arms if he wants to... I guess he can manage it with the agility, I know I can't!) spiders are always on 8 unless they're running from some cruel kid...

Point is yeah, Superman would be the stronger of the two.
