My spider-sense tingled when 'Sabine Duijnmaijer-Leh '
It's what she called him the first time they met. ('Face it, Tiger...you just hit the jackpot.'

Slang.
Everybody has words, sayings, etc. that they have the habit to use. 'Tiger' is one of hers.

There was an issue back in the 70's where Peter asked Mary Jane why she called him 'Tiger.' She said 'Oh Petey, I call you Tiger because you're not.' I guess the first time she called him 'Tiger' because of the slang expression of the time; and then because of the way Peter came across, his perceived personality, the name stuck.

Hello, I think she is calling him tiger juste because little young tiger are cut. Or maybe because she already knows he is spider man, but I really don't think so, and you, why do you ask ?

i had a girl i was dating call me tiger, (way back in the 90's) , anyway it kinda freaked me out because it immediately reminded me of mary jane. Shes the only one ever heard/read say that. But i guess its a (although very sarcastic sounding) term of affection.
