Although the organic webshooters is more in line with the genetically alted spider origin of the movie as well as in Ultimate Spiderman series I liked the idea of Peter creating webshooters better for two reasons. One, since a spider's spinnerets are located in the thorax there is no logical reason that Peter would get them in his arms. It would be more likely he would get them in his ass like a real spider. Funny, but true going with the comic book logic. Second, the creation of the metal webshooters and the formula for the web shows Peter's scientific sauvy. I mean, in the comics the biggest thing about the webbing was that no one ever knew what it was made of and the fact it would dissolve in one hour, therefore it was harmless to the criminals. A non violent way of subduing the villians. Okay, that's my two cents.

Hear! Hear! I agree with you Greenlantern! Spidey used his scientific genius numerous times over the years. In most cases to subdue the baddies like Electro, Mysterio, Doc Ock...etc. but in some cases to help people such as Dr. Connors (Lizard) and even himself like the time he tried to get rid of his Spider Powers and grew 4 extra arms and had to team up with Lizard to find a formula to get rid of them. That being said, I don't think the organic shooters are a completely bad idea if the movie angle is interpreted by Marvel readers the way we have been trained to take things over the years. We've seen numerous 'spins' on Spidey's entire history with all the different story lines and special edition comics. I viewed the movie this way. Kind of like a Marvel 'What if...?' and not a true representation of the original.
