I know this isn't a Hulk or Superman newsgroup, but IMO these are the two strongest superheroes of all time.

So my question is....who would win in a fight to the death.

I say the Hulk. In a fight to the death....without a doubt it would be the Hulk. His strength is unknown. His strength grows with anger. And if his life is in danger...nothing, not even Superman can beat him. The green bastard just gets angrier and stronger.

Dude, this group is so dead that ANY post Spidey related is welcome.

Depends. You gotta remember that there are multiple Hulks and you have different interpretations of both characters.

Going with the traditional versions of both, it would depend on the environment. If you locked them in a room together, Hulk would destroy him. If it was out in the open, Spidey could easily stay alive with his Spidey sense and far superior agility. But there's no way Spidey could defeat the Hulkster. His webbing wouldn't hold him.

The question was not Spidey, it was Supes v. Hulk! But it's the same with him, as with the Hulk: which one do you mean? The old Superman from the Thirties? Hulk would smash!! The Supie from the Seventies? No chance for the Hulk! Or the new Supes from the Nineties? 60% for the Hulk. But this all is only with the original Hulk. With other Hulks there maybe other results!!

My bad. BTW...golden era Supes was able to move planets. Plus he had all the other powers. Easily could've beaten Hulk.

Superman's powers changed and varied over time? I did not know this. I've never read a Superman comic from start to finish. Never was interested enough. My only knowledge of Superman comes from the Christopher Reeves movies, and a bit from the Lois and Clark TV series. I haven't seen much of the old 50's TV show at all, just enough to know the series existed.

Different writers have different interpretations of the Character. The modern Superman is not near as powerful as the Golden Era version. I believe John Byrne's stint was the beginning of this.

I don't know about Spidey not defeating Hulk. If Spidey were to keep on physically with the Hulk the Hulk would beat him. But Spidey would at some point decide to stop and regroup. While doing so Hulk would (might) calm down and revert to Banner. At which point Spidey might realize the truth. If Spidey realizes just who Hulk really is then the defeat becomes just helping Hulk revert to Banner. In fact Spidey might be a good one for Banner to befriend in search of a

Which may suggest that Superman would win because Superman would use his intelligence to disable Hulk. Hulk would not do anything like that nor be able to think ahead to plan for any such actions from Superman. I would be surprised if Superman did NOT know Hulk's secret. And if Superman DID know Hulk's secret he would be less likely to fight Hulk to the death. So if fighting to the death is required for your discussion then I would have to say Superman would not go that far. He would stop short of killing Hulk. Which in the course of your discussion would mean that Hulk would win by

I take it we're talking about 'old' hulk, before he became totally merged with banners intelligence?
